Gopal and G. Rohit have earned their final GM norms in asian zonal 3.2 chess championship 2007 played at Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Now they have to reach 2500 rating level to become GM.

GM Barua finished on 2nd position in Euwe Stimulans 10 player round robin played in Netherland.

Humpy finished on creditable 5th position in a strong field of 23 GM's and many IM's at abu-dhabi chess open 2007. With this she is all set to cross 2600 fide rating level in next rating list.

Anand wins Mainz world rapid championship 2007

Anand won world rapid championship 1oth time at Mainz chess tournament 2007. He defeated Aronian in the final. However, Anand finished runner up to Aronian in FiNet chess960 rapid world championship at Mainz Chess 2007. Other participants were kasimdzhanov and bacrot.
Meanwhile, Sasikiran finished creditable 1st tied in Ordix open rapid chess tournament.

Harikrishna finishes 1st tied in Paks Hungary round robin

GM Harikrishna finished 1st tied in Marx Georgy (Paks) round robin chess tournament 2007.

India wins world youth under 16 chess olympiad 2007 gold

Indian team of R Ashwath, Adhiban, Shyam Nikhil, Swayam mishra and S Nitin won gold medal in world youth chess under 16 olympiad. They also won individual medals B.Adhiban (bronze medal) on first board, Shyam Nikhil (silver medal) on fourth board and Swayams Mishra (bronze medal) on reserve board

GM Harikrishna wins arjuna award

As expected Harikrishna is declared to be the winner of arjuna award for the year 2006 for chess.
