Gopal earns IM norm

Teenager G.N.Gopal earned his second IM norm and WGM Eesha karawade earned her first IM norm in Balaquer international chess tournament 2006 in spain. Akshayraj kore also earned his third IM norm in IM chess tournament 2006 in Lugansk,Ukraine and became IM.

He scored 7/9.

Abhijeet Gupta has obtained GM norm from recently finished Andorra open international chess tournament. S. Sethuraman obtained IM norm in the same tournament.

Negi becomes youngest GM

Chess prodigy Parimarjan Negi has become the youngest Grandmaster in the world and second youngest in the history of the game.
On Saturday, the youngster made his third and final Grandmaster norm by drawing with Russian Grandmaster Ruslan Sherbakov and finished with six points from nine rounds of the Chelyabinsk Region Superfinal chess tournament in Satka.
